Who it suits

Botanical linework suits people who like art on their nails but not a lot of it. One small violet sprig on a sheer lavender base is closer to jewellery than to a pattern, and it stays readable at arm's length. Medium oval nails give the stem room to sit without being cramped or curving over the edge.

Wearing it

A sheer wash like this grows out gently, and the sprig travels up the nail rather than breaking. Fine painted work is best kept to two or three fingers, which also stops it competing with mehndi if you are wearing it through shaadi season. The buds can change colour to suit an outfit.
