Who it suits
Dusty lilac has grey in it, and that grey is what keeps it from reading like a child's colour. On warm Pakistani skin the muted tone pulls the purple back and makes it look deliberate. Matte suits you if glossy nails feel too showy at work or at university. Short squoval, plain, nothing that needs explaining to anyone.
Wearing it
Matte is the honest finish. It shows dust, hand cream and the odd scratch more readily than gloss, and it likes a gentle surface rather than a shine laid on top. Lilac sits at mid depth, so the regrowth line arrives quietly. In the kitchen, haldi is the thing to watch on a matte surface. Ask for a glossy top instead if you would rather not think about it.

Plain colour
One good colour, worn glossy, is the most low-maintenance choice there is. Regrowth shows less, it goes with every outfit, and it photographs cleanly.
