Who it suits

Espresso brown under a matte top coat behaves like suede: no reflections, just the colour. It is deep and warm, so it reads sophisticated rather than harsh, and it is flattering on olive and deeper skin. The short square shape gives it a clean edge. Good for winter, for work, and for anyone who finds glossy nails too shiny in photographs.

Wearing it

Matte surfaces show oil, so hand cream near the nail will leave a patch until it soaks in. Keep the cream on the skin, not on the plate. The colour is fully opaque, so growth at the base does become visible. A matte top coat can be swapped for gloss at a later visit if you change your mind, so just mention it in the DM.
